A fresh Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc that opens with bright lime, kiwi, grapefruit and melon aromas. Good complexity with balanced acids and a medium bodied palate. A fine accompaniment to salads, seafood and light poultry dishes. Cakebread's Website

A cult favorite, Cakebread Cellars has been turning out Napa Valley favorites for more than thirty years including this mouthwatering Sauvignon Balnc. Whole-cluster-pressing of the fruit immediately upon arrival at the winery maximizes varietal intensity while minimizing the extraction of astringent compounds from the skins. In 2010, they tank-fermented 88% of the juice while fermenting 12% in neutral oak barrels. Subsequently, 87% of the wine spent five months aging in neutral French oak barrels, which enriched its texture while optimizing varietal expression. Due to the coolness of the vintage, the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is especially fresh, crisp and vibrant. Wine & Spirits Magazine scored it 91 points saying "A tight, citrusy sauvignon, this opens to tart yellow cherry flavors as the fruit lengthens into the finish. It has a floral note of wildflower honey that recalls the sunniness of Napa Valley. Clean and refreshing."
