Cairnbrae Wines Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough the Stones 2007
a medium-bodied sauvignon blanc with great tropical notes of pineapple and mango on the nose; has a nice round body, definitely one of my more liked sauv-blancs because of its medium body

A relatively new winery, Cairnbrae Vineyards has been producing some of the world's best Sauvignon Blanc since 1992. The warm, sunny days and cool nights result in wines that are bright and lively, full of floral and citrus flavors. The presence of gravel in the fertile soil (hence "The Stones") gives the wine amazing minerality, adding balance to the lush fruit flavors. The relatively high acidity adds structure and gives way to a clean, crisp finish. With loads of grapefruit and mineral notes, this is the perfect wine to drink while watching the leaves change color and enjoying a salad or other lighter fare.
A wine that comes alive in your glass with scents of lemon pepper and fresh-cut herbs, a luscious palate of grapefruit and passion fruit, and its trademark minerality and snappy acidity.
"The Stones" is right! This is a minerally marvel, like drinking passion fruit nectar from a limestone cup. Or, maybe like drinking limestone nectar from a passion fruit cup. Whatever it's like, you'll be happy to have it in your favorite cup.
Juicy, tangy style drips with citrus, passion fruit and mineral flavors that linger impressively on the finish. Drink now.
Brisk, aromatic and generous with its gooseberry flavors at the core, shaded with lime and currant leaf notes that linger in the finish. Drink now.
Fresh, racy and fruity, this is a classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Aromas of citrus and grapefruit are prominent, and complemented by flavors of lemon grass and wet slate. The wine finishes clean with palate cleansing acidity.
This tight, pungent sauvignon has richness and stays cool, even as the acidity in the finish seems to bleed green. Chill it for oysters.
