Cain Cuvee Napa Valley Nv7 NV
46% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot. Cain NV7 Cuvée consists primarily of 2007 (hence the '7') complemented with a significant proportion of the excellent 2006 vintage. The resulting wine is both well-balanced, surprisingly complex, and with a unique personality.
Very enjoyable and affordable wine from a very reputable winery. Blends are probably my favorite type of red wine because they can offer such a wide variety of flavor profiles and different nuances compared to a 100% varietal. This wine being mostly merlot than any other was soft and supple but also had some complex aromas and flavors which definitely let you know it wasn't just merlot. Very smooth going down with a decent finish. Reminded me of a bordeaux blend but not as earthy and more of a new world stlye. Would recommend if you're looking for a good blended wine from an excellent winery that won't break the bank.
