Cade Plumpjack Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): Dark red cherries, wild flowers, mint, savory herbs, mocha and licorice all flesh out in the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain. Deep and beautifully layered, the 2011 stands out for its delineation, energy and pure vibrancy. I very much like the sense of energy here. This is a relatively gentle, suave style for Howell Mountain, but at the same time, there is plenty of early accessibility. The 2011 is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot. Drink: 2016-2026. (Nov 2013)

Closer to home, San Francisco composer and philanthropist, Gordon Getty, wrote an opera he called "Plump Jack." The fun-loving and irreverent spirit of PlumpJack clearly excited the sensibilities of Gordon's close friend and business associate, Gavin Newsom. Read less
