Another good choice from the wines-by-the-quartino list at Babbo. Though it took a while to wake up, it was a good solid, enjoyable accompaniment by the time we got the meat course. Good balanced fruit and tannins, lovely dark rich color and flavors.
Intoxicatingly sweet and floral aromas with a hint of pepper. Rich, tar and plum flavors, juicy and fresh and ending with a tannic backbone and a glance of olive and oak.
Lots of dark earth and wood tones, with a generous helping of prosciutto aromatics, a note of blackberry on the mouth. Nice tannins, some acidity.
powerful fruity nose of cherries, varying red fruit/candy-like aromas. The palate provides acidic, sour cherry, dried tea leave components, lingers on the mouth subtly.
Sweet nose of cherry cough drops. Lean and acidic in the mouth to start with sour cherries, then develops a leathery dusty quality and finishes with a pop of spice.
