Very good! Smokey right off the bat. Vanilla and Berry, went well with our spicy dinner.
Garnet-red with deep intensity. An earthy nose sowing plum, black currant and black cherry, smoke and oak. Well balanced with good mouth feel. Pleasing on the palate with black berries and earthy flavours. A medium-long finish.
A good value wine (I believe it was around $12.99). The nose had pleasant aromas of dark berries and hints of vanilla. These notes carried over to the palate with flavors of blue berries, black cherries, vanilla and hints of chocolate. It had a good balance, with smooth tannins. Drink now through 2014.
Although fairly young, not too tannic. Smooth finish without much acidity on the back end. Bright fruit and oak with just a hint of vanilla on the finish to round it off nicely.
I got this wine at a nice price now discounted at my wine store from 15.99 down to 12.99. At this price point I do feel this is a cabernet many drinkers in this price range would actually very much enjoy. Good amount of strawberry, raspberry, with good kick of creaminess imparted by fair amount of oaking. Overall this is one I will recommend to people and did overall enjoy. Its one short coming is I did feel the finish was a bit short, but overall the upfront and mid palate was enjoyable.

The 2007 J. Lohr Estates Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is a youthful, dense purple red color with bright hues. The aroma is very generous with black cherry, black currant and plum fruit, complemented by vanilla, char and toasty notes from the twelve to fourteen months in barrel. On the palate, the fruit flavors echo the aroma, complexed with blackberry and a plump, round mouthfeel and finish. Although the 2007 Seven Oaks Cabernet is ready to be enjoyed now, it is cellar-worthy for an additional 5 years. Enjoy it with your favorite roasted or barbecued meats, or tomato-based pasta dishes. - Winery

True to J Lohr's style, this wine has tons of oak and enough fruit to balance it nicely. Big and delicious, this wine needs to match with red meat to really shine.
