Cabernet Sauvignon California 2006
This is a new favorite of mine. I've had it open for three days and flavor never diminished. I will work backwards. The wine has a very smooth finish that lingers a little with a red fruit flavor. One the first and second day I found that the wine was full of fruit flavors, it was heavy and smooth. By this, the third day, I can actually pick out notes of chocolate. This is a great wine, but I cannot hazard a guess on what its profile will be down the road.

Hints of vanilla and toast are imparted by the new French oak barrels. The addition of Mount Veeder Malbec - with its distinguishing characteristics of dark chocolate and boysenberry - adds a heightened intensity to the fruit and lends texture to this wine, while softening and balancing the tannins for a long elegant finish."
Displays dark color. Black cherry, chocolate and caramel aromas come first with subtle spice and barrel toast as secondary themes inviting your first sip. The palate reinforces cherry and currant and carries ample weight on the mid palate. The tannins are present but reipe and round and lead to a persistent finish. Perfect to have with dinner tonight with full-flavored meats such as slow roasted pork. Grilling meats such as steaks, chops, and lamb loin complement this Cabernet's toasty component.
