Summary: In the ancient Piemontese dialect Antè means grafting. In regard to the Ca’ Bianca Barbera it symbolizes search for new interpretations and styles of the Barbera grape. Terroir: The Ca’ Bianca “Antè” Barbera d’Asti is sourced from the estate’s high altitude vineyards in the hills of the Alto Monferrato. The vines are trained using the traditional Guyot system with high density planting that results in low yields. Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked in early October and macerated for 8 days. Fermentation takes place at cool temperatures in stainless steel vats followed by 12 months in new and one year old Allier barriques. Additional Information: Ca Bianca Barbera Antè has a bright, deep, ruby red color; full and complex bouquet, with enticing notes of sweet spices (vanilla), with traces of ripe red fruits and violets; the flavor full and soft with the typical lingering aftertaste of wild cherry preserve. Total Alcohol: 13.5% Total Acidity: 6.5 g/l Residual Sugar: 2.750 g/l
