Byron Chardonnay Santa Barbara County 2009

Member Review by VegasOenophile:

Straw in the glass with tinges of green. Nice nose of lemon cream, toasted hazelnut and salty caramel oak with some nice yeasty notes. Some hints of baking spice and aromas of creme bruleé crust. Lively on the palate with nice acid which balances a creamy feel and rich flavors of citrus infused orchard fruit. Apple, pear, quince with hints of tropical fruits, like pineapple and mango. Nice creamy notes throughout give it nice weight. Oak use is nicely balanced. 92 pts. 4/16/13

Brown’s innovative gravity-feed winemaking facility and intensive viticultural experiments helped revolutionize cold-climate grape growing in California. Today, Byron is focused on single vineyard and regional bottlings of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from the best benchland sites throughout Santa Barbara County. Read less
