Bv Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2007

External Review by NapaCabs.com:

WA 90pts. - According to Robert Parker: The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford exhibits cedar, coffee and dark berry notes along with a dense ruby/purple color, a nice texture and a style that is somewhat of a throwback to the BV Cabernet Sauvignons made in the sixties and seventies. With pure fruit as well as an endearing texture, this is a beautiful wine to drink over the next 10-15 years. Despite being owned by a huge international corporation, BV appears to be returning to the glorious form it exhibited in the fifties, sixties and early seventies. That was noticeable with several of the wines I reviewed last year.

Beaulieu Vineyards famous Napa Cabernet. From the super 2007 vintage, Winemaker Jeffrey Stambor blends 84% Cabernet Sauvignon with 11% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and Malbec. From sites throughout Napa Valley, but primarily the BV Rutherford and Calistoga Ranches. The wine was aged 18 months in oak barrels, 50% American, 24% French and 26% Hungarian, for a richer texture and a well-integrated new oak component. The 2006 garnered well-deserved praise and 90+ scores. This 2007 is worthy successor with dark cherry, blackberry and plum flavors, hints of chocolate and toasty oak weave through an enticing and mouthfilling texture, finishing with lingering spice.
