The bright aromatic of this wine are full of heather, licorice, smoke, olive brine and menthol notes but the fruit is still a bit reticent. In the mouth one finds superbly fine-grained tannins that are powerful but balanced by notes of white clay, leather and incipient dark raspberry fruits. This offers beautiful precision but remains a bit tight and coy on the palate. I like where this is going though and the aromatics hint that we are almost there.. 92pts

Yet another happy group of tasters with this wine. Starts out again with explosive black olives that with time stays but also reveals rosemary, mint and potpourri. On the palate, tonight's bottle was a bit drying with its tannin but still showed through with sour cherry, cranberry and minerals. A bit chewy but this wine has so many qualities that its drawbacks are easily dismissed. The finish is long with herbs and beef broth. The monvigliero has a bit more balance but the neirane is an easy runner up.

Explosive nose of spanish olives and tea leaves with potpuri and french onion soup (seriously). The palate was smooth and full showing sour cherry, tobacco leaf and potato skin. Beautiful long finish that lingers for over a minute. You don't even need to drink this wine to enjoy it, the aromatics are that outstanding.
