Deep dark red color on this what you would expect from the region and grape. The nose too is what I expect without the green pepper, but hints of dill, and earthy tar qualities. This is a soy and oak mix that I will take some air/time to sort out. In the mouth make sure your ready for it, RICH, and THICK, whoa and the tannins are grabbing my tongue without letting go. Ok, might need to air this out a bit more. The fruit is hidden behind the slightly acrid tannins and an acidity that is fresh and bright. Really I'm just getting oak right now, with some dark cherry peaking through the staves. The weight of the fruit is not keeping up with tannins, though time may change this. Ok after an hour of air this wine is developing nicely, still tight but the acrid notes have dissipated, and some of the fruit is beginning to show.
Brilliant dark ruby red in color, with earthy notes of stewed plums, violets, cooked green pepper and black cherry, followed by a veil of dried green herbal notes. Breathe in, breathe out...can you say pure black and green pepper!? This wine shows medium thick layer of tannins with medium strong acidity that slices right down the center palate, followed by erratic notes of soy, charred wood and black cherry. This wines seems a little out of balance and slightly disjointed, but may be something corrected with a little age under it's belt.
