The nose showed intense blackberry and cherry with mocha, spice and melted black licorice. On the palate, it was medium-bodied, showing brisk, mouthwatering acidity and notes of spicy, sour red berries. The finish showed this wine's structure with a hint of drying tannin hanging on the palate.

Deep, dense and beautifully red, this artful blend of grenache and carignan is richly scented with black fruits and coffee. Tangy on the palate, these black cherries, berries and darker flavors linger moderately with hints of anise more touches of coffee and hints of tobacco. The 14% alcohol content is expertly balanced by acidity and flavor and is neither breathy nor bouquet-evident. As I'd never tried this vino before, I sipped it all by itself. These big and bold flavors will, much like a good CabSauv, pair perfectly with red meats - maybe even something mushroomy and earthy like venison or mutton.. Please note that this particular vintage is at the upper limit of the vintner's suggested drinkable lifespan. If you find it, grab it, decant it, and drink if right away - don't cellar. ~tvb

Very fruity with a clean finish. Has the mineral tastes of Montsant. Very enjoyable.

Well I've not tried it yet. Just bought it today at the church charity auction with a bottle of Plenet 2004 Priorat for $60.00 for both. I'll let y'all know what we think!

Big wine that coats the mouth with fruit. Plum on the nose, with a huge dark berry palate. Finish is long, and thoroughly enjoyable. Those at dinner party expressed the same views. Glad I have another bottle!

Buil i Giné 17-XI San Gregori L'Ermita 2004: Dieser Wein wurde sechs Monaten in amerikanischen Eichen-Barriques ausgebaut. Weingut: Buil I GinèRegion: KatalonienRebsorte: Garnacha, Carinena, TempranilloInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 14 Vol.%Säuregehalt: 4 g/lFassreife: 6 Monate in Barriques gereiftEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16-18°CAuszeichnungen2002: 85 Punkte Mondo Nr. 44 Rotwein > Spanien > Katalonien

Winemaker's Notes:

90 points Josh Raynolds (IWC): Light yellow. Pungent herb, nectarine and mineral aromas show very good clarity and energy. Linear citrus and pit fruit flavors are tightly wound and well focused, with a hint of white pepper adding back-end bite. Clean and energetic on the dry, persistent finish, which strongly repeats the citrus and mineral notes. (Sep/Oct 2011)
