Buena Vista Merlot Carneros 2000
The grapes that went into the 2000 Carneros Estate Pinot Noir were meticulously handpicked, in the early morning hours, at an average of 23.5° Brix. After destemming, the fruit was transferred to open–topped tanks, left to cold soak for several days, then inoculated and allowed to ferment for an additional week. A gentle pressing was applied before the wine was transferred to new and one–to two–year–old French oak barrels for a period of 12 months. Our 2000 Carneros Estate Pinot Noir is a graceful wine that delivers ripe tannins and a silky mouthfeel. Aromas and flavors of wild strawberries, raspberries and hints of earth are integrated with notes of vanilla and clove. Well–balanced and elegantly layered flavors transition into a long lush finish.
