Buckshot Shiraz Heathcote 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

"100% Shiraz from a very small 40 year-old dry-grown vineyard in Heathcote (yielding 1.5 tons/acre). Delicious, with tons of earth, spice, and very good fruit. Parker gave this vintage a 93. "

From a relatively young Victoria vineyard (11 years of age), there are 500 cases of this beautifully made, barrel-aged (both French and American) Shiraz. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by aromas of blueberries, smoke, and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, with sensational intensity, modest alcohol for a Shiraz of this size (14.2%), and moderate tannin, it will benefit from 1-2 more years of bottle age, and should drink well over the following 12-15 years. Lithe and appealing for its racy blackberry, blueberry and white pepper aromas and flavors. Lively, lingering finish. Not a blockbuster, but has tremendous class. Drink now through 2012. 400 cases made. -HS ** Only 16 in stock **
