There are 400 cases of the brilliant 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was tasted several months after bottling. This broodingly dense opaque purple-colored wine offers an extraordinary nose of blueberries, smoky oak, chocolate, and licorice. Powerful, rich, and concentrated, with sweet tannin, a thick, juicy style, and excellent delineation, this large-scaled Cabernet should hit its peak in 4ndash;5 years, and last through 2020.

The star of this trio is the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (907 cases). Beautiful aromas of blueberry liqueur, blackberries, camphor, incense and acacia flowers is followed by a well-textured, full-bodied, stunningly opulent, voluptuous wine with plenty of structure lurking beneath the surface. Super-pure and intense, it is the strongest wine produced by Byrant over the last 4ndash;5 years. It needs 3ndash;4 years of cellaring and should keep for three decades.

(Barrel tasting) An amazing barrel sample. Rich and plush, with a concentrated mix of ripe plum, blackberry and wild berry flavors that are tightly focused and persistent, with a long, detailed finish. Caressing texture.

Potentially a candidate for perfection, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is the finest Bryant Family wine since the aforementioned 1997. Striking aromas and flavors of blackberries, blueberries, flowers, smoke, truffles, and sweet berries lead to a wine with profound concentration, a silky, layered mouthfeel, perfect integration of tannin and wood, and remarkable depth, intensity, and balance. The finish lasts nearly a minute. This stunning Cabernet should age nicely for 20ndash;30 years.

Made in a full-bodied, more masculine style, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon offers more evolved aromas of high class, unsmoked cigar tobacco, blackberries, black currants, earth, and underbrush. It is a deep, dense, ruggedly constructed Cabernet revealing powerful tannins in the finish. While outstanding, it is dwarfed by the monumental quality of the 2007. Give it 1ndash;2 years of cellaring, and consume it over the following two decades.

Delightfully complex, elegant, rich and subtle, with a core of ripe, spicy currant, black cherry and plum thatrsquo;s pure and focused, supple and juicy, with an amazing finish that reverberates with flavor. Shows great balance, concentration and persistence. Best from 2010 through 2020.

The recent vintage of 2004 is by far the strongest vintage at Bryant Family Vineyard, displaying the classic blueberry jam notes intermixed with cassis, smoke, underbrush, and spice. It is a full-bodied, opulent, fleshy wine that is beautifully pure, long, dense, and concentrated. Nevertheless, the forward style of this vintage argues for drinking this wine over the next 15+ years.

Winemaker's Notes:

2005 Bryant Family Cabernet Sauvignon Elegant and stylish, with ripe, vivid black cherry, currant, wild berry and black olive flavors that gain depth and vibrancy, picking up body and complexity and ending with a long, lingering finish that keeps repeating the fruit and cedary oak themes. Best from 2011 through 2017. 700 cases made. JLSituated high above Lake Hennessey, Bryant Family Vineyard is one of a handful of Napa Valley vineyards that can claim the moderating influence of a large body of water.Winds blow over the mountains from the west, are drawn down to and across the cool waters of Lake Hennessey and travel directly up a natural chute to the Bryant Family Vineyard. This breezeway makes the vineyard unique and enhances the quality of fruit as the winds cool the grapes on hot summer days. The uniqueness of the fruit is the basis for this special wine along with an outstanding winemaking team and brand new, gravity fed winery that was specifically designed and constructed for this vineyard. This is a California wine.
