Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon(2004)

The color is an opaque black/ruby/purple, and the amazing aromatic concoction includes notes of melted licorice, minerals, smoky toast, and blackberry as well as cassis liqueur.

($285; 15.8% alcohol) Good deep medium ruby. Superripe, liqueur-like nose comes across as higher-toned than that of the 2005. Extravagantly fat, sweet and thick, conveying less energy than the 2005 despite possessing adequate acidity. This is hugely broad and velvety cabernet, but seems distinctly less refined than its younger sibling. Finishes with big tannins that are still a bit youthfully rigid. I would not want to bury this one in the cellar, but I'd certainly wait a year or two before pulling the cork.

Bryant Family has created another classic California Cabernet Sauvignon with expressive blackberry and black cherry flavors. Dense and sweet on the palate, with firm tannins on the finish. This wine can age for 10-15 yrs.
