Food Pairings for Bruno Giacosa Dolcetto Dolcetto d'Alba Falletto di Serralunga
The first time I tasted this I was a little disappointed. It was very tight and a little brighter on the fruit than I like to taste in a Dolcetto but tonight, about 9 months after my last taste, it was fantastic. A Purple color with a deep crimson rim. Notes of Violet, blackberry jam and butter rise from the glass. On the palette it's slightly grapy at first but then turns to blueberry. Very fruity and full bodied. A medium and slightly bitter finish with a hint of citrus, reminiscent of it's blackberry notes on it's nose. What a great evolution from it's initial release.
