Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili 2009
Editorial Reviews for Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili
This is very tight on the nose giving up on hints of menthol and anise. Big fruit in the mouth but balanced by big structure that is just a bit tough. Chewy and muscular in the mouth with a touch of cocoa accentuating the tremendously deep core of sweet fruit. Finishes with great length but this is all potential at this point. If you've got them don't touch until 2014 or so. Should be great but just to tight to call it. 85pts today with potential for 95
Acetone, balsamic on the nose. Nice concentration, raspberry, cassis, floral, rose notes. Very nicely balanced. Nice wine, but will not be stocking up at current prices

This is rich packed with floral sweet cherry strawberry anise and a hint of menthol aromas and flavors that stand up to the dusty tannins. Elegant offering a long and satisfying finish with a balanced impression overall. Best from 2014 through 2025. 150 cases imported. - BS Wine Spectator.
Medium red. High-pitched, rather cool aromas of cherry, raspberry, white tobacco, medicinal herbs, minerals and menthol. Then Quite dry and backward on the palate, with mint and herb flavor dominating. Almost Barolo-like in its medicinal character... Stephen Tanzers IWC. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2009 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili 750ml
Beautiful aromas of plums and chocolate follow through to a full body with fine tannins and a focused finish. Tangy and fresh. Better in 2015. James Suckling.
Medium red. High-pitched rather cool aromas of cherry raspberry white tobacco medicinal herbs minerals and menthol. Then Quite dry and backward on the palate with mint and herb flavor dominating. Almost Barolo-like in its medicinal character. Very young and backward Asili displaying terrific fruit through the retronasal passage. 92+ Stephen Tanzers IWC.
A sweet sawdust aroma turns to cherry and licorice notes in this fleshy red. The tannins add a chewy texture on the finish, as this stays sweet and long. Best from 2013 through 2024. -BS Wine Spectator. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2008 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili 750ml
Aromas are full of plums and lemons that follow through to a full body, with silky tannins and a fruity, bright finish. A pretty combination of ripe fruit and crisp acidity. Need two years to come together. Triumph for the vintage. Try in 2013. James Suckling. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2008 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili 750ml
