Web Only 2003 - Soft and cuddly, with berry, tobacco and cedar character and hints of vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, ripe fruit finish. Delicious and decadent. Drinking nicely already. Best after 2005. 1,150 cases mad... Wine Spectator. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 1999 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

Three Glasses, Gambero Rosso: ...the Asili '99 is even better. Stylish faded roses, dried herbs and leather usher in a superbly structured palate, packed with sinewy tannins and an outstandingly elegant succulence that stays through to a savoury finish. It's a superb Barbaresco, as good as the finest wines produced by this exceptional Langhe producer. (2004)
