Food Pairings for Brunello di Montalcino Luce Della Vite Luce
I have vintages back to 1999, I love this full body wine. By far one of my favorite Super Tuscan blends. Frescobaldi is a wonder producer and all of their wines are to be tried. Like velvet, this wine is one to hold onto and enjoy for a special occasion.
Dark ruby in color, very intense nose and flavor. Fruit bomb. Dried blueberry and Indian spices are very prominent. Full-bodied, great tannins, finish goes on forever. I love this wine. Suckling gave it until 2015, but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to 2025 at least. Not easy to find, because restaurants snap it up (which should tell you something.) And a very dramatic etched label, which gets your guests' attention. If you can get a good price, stock up.

External Reviews for Brunello di Montalcino Luce Della Vite Luce
Wine Spectator ReviewRated 91This is balanced and refined, with licorice, lavender and hints of ripe fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a balanced, silky-textured finish. Merlot and Sangiovese. Best after 2008.Wine Tasting NotesLuce appears deep ruby with lovely purple highlights. Subtle suggestions of toasty oak appear first on the nose, over fragrant notes of blueberry and blackberry that seem to infuse the background; next to emerge is a complex of floral and mint nuances, followed by smooth impressions of vanilla and cinnamon. The palate is smooth and mouth-filling, with velvety tannins and a warm alcohol beautifully complemented by a crisp acidity. The finish is expansive and dynamic. 60% Merlot and 40% Sangiovese.
"Blueberry, grape and light raisin aromas follow through to a full body, with Indian spices, berries and cloves. Very long and flavorful, yet balanced and pretty. Loads going on here. Best from 2010 through 2015...95" WS 04/09.
