Brunello di Montalcino la Serena 93js 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

93 Points, James Suckling: "So much crushed dark fruit such as raspberries and blueberries. Hints of sandalwood, too. Full-bodied, chewy and powerful with ripe tannins and a flavorful finish. Just a hint of lemon rind. Drink in 2018." 11/16.

The vineyards, planted with 100% Sangiovese, are located in the Torrenieri zone, in an elevated section in the northeast corner of Montalcino. The wines are produced with the consultation of oenologist Paolo Caciorgna. Both the Brunello and Rosso di Montalcinos have gotten rave reviews and continue to impress in recent vintages. La Serena is poised for full organic certification starting in the 2013 vintage.  Read less
