Brown Brothers Cienna 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

Brown Brothers is one of the most successful family-owned wineries in Australia. Since 1885, the family have produced wines from a multitude of vineyards spread throughout a range of different sites and microclimates. Working with a diverse range of grape varieties has enabled them to produce a large selection of wines across the spectrum of styles. Cienna is a light wine with a vibrant ruby red colour and aromas of fresh raspberries and strawberries. With fruit sweetness on the palate, it is soft and juicy with a refreshing spritzy finish. A sip of this wine reminds you of summer berries in a glass, while the mixture of good natural acidity combined with fruit sweetness leaves a refreshing sensation in the mouth. This wine is best enjoyed young and well chilled paired with spicy Chinese hot pot with Szechwan pepper chilli and coriander or even with crushed meringue and fresh mixed berries smothered in raspberry coulis.

No better than 2006. Still not a wine in my opinion, just an excuse for those who like fizzy fruit juice with an alcoholic kick.

Is this really a wine? Too sweet to be a red, not sweet enough to be a dessert wine but has instead a sickly sparkling fruity serve chilled aspect which undoes any serious attempt at wine. Should be in 375ml bottles and lined up alongside Bacardi Breezers in the shops. Made me quite sick drinking it.
