Brotte Domaine Barville Châteauneuf-du-Pape Aoc 2007
Barville was the last name of Laurent Brotte’s maternal grandmother. Green harvests were conducted as necessary throughout the growing period. Only the best grapes were hand selected in the vineyard between September and October, with further sorting taking place at the winery. The yield was destalked and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation took place at 28-32°C over 7 days in concrete tanks. During a 30-day maceration period, the wine was devatted twice. Malolactic fermentation occurred. The wine was divided equally: 50% was aged in large oak casks, while the remaining 50% rested in a combination of 1st, 2nd and 3rd use French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine was filtered before bottling, then cellared an additional 6 months.
