Broquel Mendoza Malbec 2008
Intense, deep red-violet color, almost black, showing the concentration and quality of the fruit's origins. Very aromatic wine with a good balance of depth and strength. On the nose, one notes dark fruits and jam with an elegant hint of smoke, vanilla and chocolate; on the palate it is ample, rich with a long finish with delicate, soft tannins.
External Reviews for Broquel Mendoza Malbec
The Broquel Malbec from Trapiche is on par with most producers’ Reserva wine but at a much more attractive price. Older vines (15-25 years) are sourced, 100% Malbec and the wine is carefully vinified and then aged 15 months in French and American oak barrels. Blackberry, cassis, plums, smoke, dark chocolate and licorice flavors swirl on the palate. This is a Malbec with just the right balance of intensity and style. Wine Spectator said "Heavily toasted but alluring, with warm cocoa and plum sauce notes followed by dark fig paste, currant preserve and black tea notes. Muscular but velvety on the toasty finish."
