Brooks Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2007

Member Review by aronowm2:

nose of crystal light fruit punch. palate is an interesting blend of crystal light fruit punch and hawaiian punch. what i'm trying to say is that this wine is way too young. decant it for 6-7 hours minimum. good drink though.

Last year Brooks Pinot Noir was selected a Top 100 Best Buy by Wine & Spirits Magazine and they’ve continued their winning ways with this elegant, great value 2007. Brooks is a small, family owned winery in the Willamette Valley. Satrted in 1998 by Jimi Brooks, the winery, now in it’s new facility is run by Jimi’s widow after his untimely death in 2004. The Brooks’ connection to the community has kept the winery vibrant, receiving prime fruit and expert advice from local vintnres and growers. This 2007 is a blend of fruit from 6 different vineyards in the Willamette Valley. The grapes were all hand sorted for quality and destemmed before a 10-15 day cold soak. Aged 10 months in oak barrels; 35% new French and some Hungarian. The wine is bottle unfined and unfiltered. The nose brings red cherry and raspberry notes along with delciate earthy notes. On the palate it shows a sleekness and balance of bright fruit and spice, earthy minerals and tingling acidity. Pure Oregon Pinot. Limited. This item excluded from any other discounts or offers beyond the 15% case discount.
