Brooks Ara Riesling No Upc 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

WINEMAKING NOTES The grapes were hand sorted and 100% destemmed. the fruit settled for 1-2 days after pressing and racking to age in small lot stainless steel fermentation tanks. The temperatures dropped to 52-55 degrees and yeast was added. Fermentations lasted from five weeks to six months, depending upon the lot. Once complete, the wines were racked off the lees and individual lots were tasted to determine the overall blend of vineyards. we bottled this wine in spring of 2007 to capture the austere, bold and very varietal characters. TASTING NOTES Rich complex nose of slate, lime, green apple, fresh cut hay, apple, quince, white flowers and minerals. Fresh tarragon, clove, cinnamon, white currents and beeswax notes offer more complexity and depth to the nose after the wine opens. Concentrated and intense, the mid-palate has flavors of wet stones, apricots and peaches, while the finish is exciting, lingering and full.

apple-y goodness. with a touch of pina colada. I am going to put one away for a couple of years because I think it's going to change drastically.

Nice crisp, dry riesling. Lots of pear and apple in the nose but got mineral, lime and acid as well in the taste. Loved it.
