Brokenwood Red Blend Cricket Pitch Red 2007
Bright pale yellow with green tints. Aromas of citrus with a herbaceous green pea edge from the higher proportion of Sauvignon Blanc. The lifted, grassy King Valley component is evident. Some barrel ferment character adding subtle complexity and further dimension to the palate. A fine natural acid structure provides length and liveliness to the finish.
Lots of spice in the nose, smells like a big wine but is nice and balanced. Medium body with a nice small finish.
Great value white wine from Brokenwood (one of my new favs in Australia). Elegant and balanced, was easily the favourite wine at my July 4th BBQ.
