Broglia Gavi la Meirana 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

a lovely spritz of lemon zest a bit of apricot and a swath of green apple. It’s actually a fuller bodied white but doesn’t have the buttery quality you might expect. It’s the perfect with raw fish Hamachi Crudo for instance.

Broglia’s 2013 Gavi La Meirana is laced with white peach, apple, jasmine and a gentle hint of spice. Drink this round, supple Gavi over the next few years, while the flavors are bright and focused.

This is Gavi taken to an extreme: Its fruit intensity feels firm and fleshy, hinting at pink grapefruit, sour cherry and peach. It lasts on grape skin spice, while the acidity is potent enough to keep the wine balanced and fresh. A full-figured aperitif for poached prawns.

Features ample flesh, with the white peach and grapefruit flavors imparting roundness, kept focused and long by the vibrant structure. Drink now.

Dazzling citrus fruit, brisk acidity and flinty minerality layer seamlessly to create this beautiful Italian white. Perfect for shellfish, especially mussels, but I like it just chilled as an aperitif.
