Brochelle Zinfandel Paso Robles 2011

Member Review by VegasOenophile:

Both the nose and the flavor of this zinfandel are highly fruit forward and jammy. However, it's done in a great, pure fruit zinfandel way. The spice and pepper are there, but not overpoweringly so as in many zins. The fruit is the star of this wine while all the balance and other zin components are there to enhance, not dominate. It's a sexy wine and I plan to get some. I highly recommend this for lovers of zinfandel. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 2/13/10

We are a tiny winery creating rich, voluptuous wines. We take great pride in the fact that our wines are truly hand made by us personally with excessive emphasis on quality of the finished product. We have a simple philosophy; great wines are created in the vineyard. To this end, we have spent countless hours in our estate zinfandel vineyard priming it to bear only the lowest yields of highly concentrated fruit. The same approach is made in the amazing vineyards we painstakingly select to craft our Cabernets and Syrah with. With the focus on the vines, there is little else for the wine to do except take a blissful sleep in French oak. This simple formula has allowed us to encapsulate the pure essence of the vineyard and bring forth wines that leave an unforgettable impression. Our passion and obsessive attention to detail can be discovered in every bottle we create. In order to achieve our aspiration to produce nothing but extraordinary wines, our production is very low. If you would like to be among the select few that receive our new releases-join our Wine Club; Chateau Brochelle so that you may receive our highly allocated wines before they are just a memory. Sign-up to receive our annual pre-release newsletter and be apprised of all the latest news and releases, or search find our wine to see where you may locate a bottle of Brochelle. After you've had the chance to savor the fruits of our labor, share your story with us so we can enjoy it too! As we do not operate a tasting facility, we love hearing from our customers and are always humbly honored by the many wonderful stories we have heard over the years. We didn't expect when we started out back in 1998 to do anything except attempt to craft the best wines possible from our patch of earth. Knowing that something our hands made has touched you in a positive way has truly been an inspiration for us. To all of you who invite us in to your lives each time you choose to open a bottle of Brochelle - our sincere thanks to you. Read less

This is one of the best Zin's that I have tasted. I bought a case and save it for special people. The wine fills your mouth with berries and black currants. Wonderful

Strong nose of some brambly fruits and some pepper. A powerful, decadent, mouth coating and bright, deep zin. I really enjoyed this wine!

This is everything that you might expect from Brochelle's Zin. Big luscious fruit unfolds to reveal ultra smooth, multi-layered dark berry flavors, rounded out by chocolate and espresso notes with a long, languishing velvet finish.

Tasting Notes - Big luscious fruit unfolds to reveal ultra smooth, multi-layered dark berry flavors, rounded out by chocolate and espresso notes with a long, languishing velvet finish. This is everything that you might expect from Brochelle's Zin. It has a port-like extraction and expressiveness of raisins and earthiness. Unfined and unfiltered.

The vintage of all vintages-the 2005 has it all. This wine will be remembered long after it is gone just due to it's complete manifestation of a truly classic Zinfandel. The entire framework is here; a saturation of dark berries encased within a smooth, velvety mouthfeel then married harmoniously with an amazing tannin balance. Just after you begin experiencing the gobs of fruit, your palate will also be elated to uncover a great refinement, structure and balance to this wine that we've not seen before. This vintage is such a true expression of the terroir and distinct climate conditions that so characterized the 2005 growing season. Drink now and until 2012.
