Broc Cellars Grenache Bennett Valley Dry Stack Vineyard 2005
This is what I expect from domestic grenache. Easily a competitor with riper vintage Gigondas or a really new world style Garnacha out of Spain. Chris kept the alcohol low and I love him for it. I'd start here when experimenting with his wines. Then do Vine Starr Blanc.

Fragrant aromas of strawberry-rhubarb and cherries lead to a lively medium-bodied mouthfeel that is as soft as velvet. Earthy tones show on the tight finish. Drink now.
From the Dry Stack Vineyard in Bennett Valley, the '05 Grenache shows red fruits along with kirsch, clove, black currants and pepper spice. This wine is concentrated and focused, yet retains elegance and restraint through its balance. Aged 10 months in French oak.
