This is silky, floral, slam dunk Cabernet grown in the cool, southern part of Paso Robles in California's Central Coast. Made with organically grown grapes and fermented with native yeasts, this is supremely fresh and super pretty Cab that shows off the softer, sexier, more feminine side of this typically brawny variety. Perfectly ripe with clean notes of cassis, blackberry, and flowers, and not a touch oaky. Winemaker's Notes:

Black currant, spice, talc aromas. Blackberry, red plum, mineral flavors. The Margarita Vineyard is the southernmost vineyard in the Paso Robles appellation. It is actually closer to the town of San Luis Obispo than Paso Robles. The vineyard is also located closer to the Pacific Ocean than most other vineyards in the Paso Robles appellation at just 14 miles. Margarita Vineyard’s high altitude location creates near perfect growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, with warm sunny days and cool nights. Wine from this site typically shows abundant, intense fruit, yet maintains balance and freshness thanks to it naturally high acidity. Additionally, hillside plantings and shale outcroppings riddled with the fossils of ancient sea creatures gives the wine a mineral thread uncommon to most red wines at this price-point. The wine was produced and bottled by Broadside a few miles east of the vineyard in the town of Creston.
