Broadbent Vinho Verde 2012

Member Review by aronowm2:

The definition of apertif. Full of spritz, green apple and fresh citrus shavings. Extremely refreshing and won't get you sloshed at 9% alcohol. Try this instead of a post-gardening beer.

Scents of green hay and spice. Mild and spritzy, it's a bit tangy and salty. Low in alcohol - 9%.

Light floral nose, slight amount of residual sugar. Still slightly tart, even with that - very high acidity. Its a decidedly simple wine, rather plain and lightly fizzy

Vinho Verde is possibly the best Spring and Summer porch wine.

This zesty white shows blood orange and fresh peach flavors. Light and spicy on the finish. Drink now.

A delicate peach and mandarin orange perfume over zestier lemon-lime flavors gives this a dry profile. It's relatively full, the alcohol bringing some warmth to the wine. For roast fish.

Here is a perfect wine to drink out of the bottle, on the beach. It shows floral fruit, lime, and green freshness on the nose and palate. Slightly fizzy and possessed of zippy acidity, you'll want to have a plate of shellfish on hand when you open this wine.

Wine Tasting NotesThis is a true classic Vinho Verde. It is light in color with a slight spritz from bubbles. On the nose it is refreshing, light and lively. On the palate, it has a slight spritz, it is light [only 9% alcohol] and delicious. It is very "more-ish", an English tasting term meaning that you want to drink more of it! In fact, it is so light, refreshing and easy to drink, it is good that it is low alcohol. The acidity is refreshing and the wine is great fun.
