Bremerton Shiraz Langhorne Creek Selkirk 2008
** James Halliday 2011 : 91 pts ** The grapes for the Selkirk Shiraz are 100% Langhorne Creek and estate grown. Careful vineyard management and controlled yields ensure premium fruit for this distinctive Shiraz style. It is a fine example of a classic Langhorne Creek Shiraz. It has a deep, vibrant colour and offers distinctive varietal characters; a rich aroma of blackberries, complemented by spicy oak nuances. A layered, well-balanced palate structure and a persistent finish, provides a frame for the full bodied berry fruit flavours and touches of spice. Although drinking well now, it will develop with cellaring for 4+ years and therefore reward the patient. Matches well with Mediterranean foods, cheeses, red meat, poultry and risotto.
Longhorne Creek , jutst 70km South East of Adelaide, produces some of the finest fruit in Australia. That's why Craig and Mignonne Willson chose to make their home here in 1985. Together with youngest daughter Lucy (Marketing Manager) and eldest dauhter Rebecca (Winemaker) is truly a family afair.
