Brassfield Estate Winery Pinot Grigio High Valley High Serenity Ranch 2011

Member Review by elzumpango:

Sharp, citrusy and a nice kick of alcohol at the end. If it's hot outside you'll appreciate sipping on this. Not so great with food but as a refreshing beverage it kinda reminded me of drinking a very well mixed citrus vodka & soda on ice. Tasty.

At Brassfield Estate, we believe wine is truly an expression of the grapes and where they are grown. Soils, microclimates, and vineyard practices are the major contributing factors for world class wine. The very finest wines in the world have one thing in common: They are all estate-grown and estate-bottled, meaning that they are crafted entirely from grapes grown on the winery’s own property where they are vinified and bottled on the premise. This principle is the foundation at Brassfield Estate. With High Valley’s diverse soils & microclimates, we have planted 19 different varietals covering over 350 acres of vineyard. Brassfield Estate controls every aspect of the Viticultural development: •Careful research matching correct varietals to optimal vineyard site. •Development control in planting for spacing, row direction, canopy/trellis development and choice of root stock. •Farming philosophy of sustainable agriculture and deficit irrigation done with meticulous care for optimum grape quality. •Harvest practices of hand picking, use of half ton bins and limited movement to winery to prevent fruit damage. •Winemaking in the hands of winemaker. Brassfield Pinot Grigio High Valley 2007 750ml Brassfield wines are made in a great wine making region that tends to be missed out on. High Valley is north of Napa and certainly should not be missed out on, it is a beautiful area. The Brassfield wines are great values, not having to pay the huge real-estate cost of Napa and Sonoma they are able to put so much care into their wines. Every Brassfield wine I have had makes me want for more! Keith A. Shaw Ripe pears, green apples and peach blossom aromas explode for the senses. There is a crisp entry on the palate followed by an opulent mouth-feel that lingers to balanced acidity and a refreshing finish.

Wine Tasting NotesA dazzling forward bouquet of orange blossom, vanilla bean extract, pineapple and Bartlett pears, remaining crisp with a balanced acidity, medium body, and lingering finish.
