Brassfield Estate Vineyard Eruption Volcano Ridge 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2012 Eruption is rich and intense. The wine has aromas of fresh blueberries, toasted brioche, black cherries, and mocha, giving way to flavors that are jammy, ripe and unctuous. The palate explodes with blackberries, dark currants, and clove while it layers supple and round coating tannins, making the wine both hedonistic while simultaneously elegant. The texture of this wine is perhaps its most distinguishing trait – mouth-coating with an endless finish. Be certain to have a second bottle on hand, the first won’t last very long" Winery notes "Looking for a super red value under $20-Eruption 2012 from Brassfield Estate is a CA Rhone ranger." Robert Parker, 11/6/13

At Brassfield Estate, we believe wine is truly an expression of the grapes and where they are grown. Soils, microclimates, and vineyard practices are the major contributing factors for world class wine. The very finest wines in the world have one thing in common: They are all estate-grown and estate-bottled, meaning that they are crafted entirely from grapes grown on the winery’s own property where they are vinified and bottled on the premise. This principle is the foundation at Brassfield Estate. With High Valley’s diverse soils & microclimates, we have planted 19 different varietals covering over 350 acres of vineyard. Brassfield Estate controls every aspect of the Viticultural development: •Careful research matching correct varietals to optimal vineyard site. •Development control in planting for spacing, row direction, canopy/trellis development and choice of root stock. •Farming philosophy of sustainable agriculture and deficit irrigation done with meticulous care for optimum grape quality. •Harvest practices of hand picking, use of half ton bins and limited movement to winery to prevent fruit damage. •Winemaking in the hands of winemaker.
