Brancott Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2010
The wine is pale straw in color with green highlights. Aromas of ripe, red capsicum and gooseberry dominate with tropical pineapple and grapefruit notes apparent. This wine displays full fruit intensity. The ripe capsicum and gooseberry flavors with hints of pungency sit well with the supporting tropical fruit flavors. A well-balanced wine showing the lively, crisp acidity associated with this style.
A constant "Best Buy" according to the Wine Enthusiast. Light golden color with watermelon and lemon aromas on the nose. Hints of green grass, herbs, and melon taste with a nice balanced acidity. Very refreshing, wonderful wine to have for a great price.

This SB was a little muted for my taste preferences in what I've come to expect from NZ SB. There were some gooseberry flavors, but not much herbaceousness, which was disappointing. Acidity was not as zippy, either. At the price point, would not buy again.
A crisp, peppery white, with notes of green bell pepper, citrus (lemon / lime) even some young tart grapefruit. A tad acidic, so much more lovely when paired with a light meal. Finish was long and it held up to other earthy flavors, such as portabello mushrooms. I paired it with Artichoke stuffed raviolis that were topped with a beure blanc sauce, portabello and fresh spring peas. Added some thyme which brought out some grassy aromas on the wine itself. The wine is rather dry, so food will soften the palatte. Enjoy!

The cool climate of the Marlborough region allows the grapes to develop the acidity levels that Sauvignon Blanc needs in order to live up to its potential. This one shows nectarine and tempered herbal notes, in a very food-friently package.
