Editorial Reviews for Bradgate White Blend Chenin Blanc-Sauvignon Blanc Blend
The nose here is really dominated by the roasted chili and gooseberry aromas of the SB, but they are tempered by crisp, sweet cantaloupe and smoky, waxy tones. On the palate there is a sense of lightness and freshness to the fruit that sets this apart from pure Chenin. It’s got a lovely mouth feel with transparent quality that allows the light orange-toned citrus fruit flavors to shine through. There are more herbal, green chili tones on the backend, but the fruit takes control of the medium-length finish, leaving the mouth citrussy and refreshed. 89pts
Very light apple aromas. Palate is more interesting, with a bit of hard cheese, some spice, lemon zest, a bit of cream and more cheese rind on the finish. Well priced.
Very smoky nose, something like a hint of bbq glaze on the mouth. Barrel-intensive, not much from the grapes. Some residual sweetness, but not enough acid to give it good length. Falls flat.
a little toasty with apples and citrus notes. aromas filled with citrus, lemon, tangerine peel, and grapefruit pithe combined with a burnt popcorn. some almond and hazelnut on the palate. unique complexity of fruit, oak, and acidic components.
Light apples and cheese on the nose. Bitter grass stain and dandelion flavor at first, but develops into a pleasant creamy bready flavor in the finish. A chameleon of a wine.
Nice that's a mixture of bay leaf and lemons. Crisply mineral with gooseberry and nice tart fruits. Striking smokey finish - unique. Really gritty acids, a stark, but interesting wine.
Crisp, grassy nose. Very acidic - green apples, rounds out a bit after a few seconds with some peach, but its basically a crisp refreshing light feeling wine. The finish has some minerality and spice from the oak.
