Bozen Pinot Grigio 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

Coming from the noble Pinot family, Pinot Grigio is one of the most elegant whites. As one of the most popular Italian white wines, you can also find it in South Tyrol. In this subalpine climate, Pinot Grigio obtains a smoky aroma with a sharper acidity, full and mellow with a warm, floral perfume and a strong character.

Young and full of vision for the future … … but at the same time steeped in the traditions of two historic wine producers. This is today’s image of our wine cellars. After a merger in 2001 with the wine producers of Gries (since 1908) and Santa Maddalena (since 1930), we are one of South Tyrol’s top-quality wineries. The grapes of 200 vine growers ensure that our high-quality wines win prizes in South Tyrol’s capital time and again. Cantina Bolzano combines 320 hectares of Bolzano’s best vineyards at between 240 and 800m above sea level. One of South Tyrol’s most traditional wines, the S. Maddalena, thrives on the loose, sandy, well-ventilated soil on the warm slopes at the foot of the Renon. The Lagrein, South Tyrol’s best known and most characteristic red wine originates on the porous, warm soil of Gries and S. Maurizio. The variety of locations and production areas facilitate a wide choice of selected vintage wines.   Read less

Some salinity and mineral aromas with some fruit flavors of apricot and pear. Burst of fruit flavor in the mouth with flavors of pear and lemon, buoyant acidity and a driving citrus finish.
