Bouvet Brut NV

Winemaker's Notes:

This is a delicious sparkler produced in the Loire Valley from the lightly floral honeyed Chenin Blanc grape. Serve it well chilled and enjoy a few bottles in the garden over the weekend. Try it with white fish smoked salmon lobster light chicken salads or a simple plate of pasta.

Bouvet Ladubay:
The Loire Valley is a place of natural grace and harmony. The majestic river, the soft light, the mild climate, and the abundant land make it a place favourable to man's well being. Nine kings of France spent their holiday time here. It is perhaps around Saumur that this “douceur de vivre” is most tangible. The White City, which stretches around the foot of its château, cradled by the Loire, has become surrounded by vines over the course of centuries.

Yeasty, bread dough aromas, with light citrus notes. Bracing citrus flavors, crisp and dry; finishes with a citrus tang.

…has a fruity perfume of citrus, apple, with notes of pear and peach. On the palate lemon, pear and apple are bright and crisp, with a medium-long, citrus- and pear-edged finish.

Rather rich in flavor, sporting nice, crisp texture and enough body to make it satisfying to drink. Has buttery nuances and solid appley flavors, as spicy accents linger on the finish.

Lean, with good balance and structure. Vanilla and lemon flavors stand out and toasty notes emerge on the finish.

Brilliant pale yellow straw. Medium-bodied. Moderately extracted. Lemon cream, quince, anise, fennel. Perfumed Chenin Blanc whiffs. Good mouthfeel with soft generous fruit flavors that have a creamy texture. fine lingering finish.
