Light color. May have been a bad bottle. Bit off balanced with flabby midpalate. Really did not like it. Tasted like cheap wine at a chinese restaurant.

First tasted this wine at an event hosted by Wines of Greece in Manhattan where I got to sample over 40 fine Greek wines. Lucky for me, the 2007 Boutari Moschofilero is pretty widely available in my neck of the woods in New Jersey, so I get to enjoy it often. Think of this wine as a Pinot Grigio / Sauvignon Blanc but with tons of body and flavor. It's light enough to be enjoyed all Summer long, but offers enough body and richness to pair with spicy foods during the cooler months. I find lots of juicy lemons with ripe honeyed melons and floral undertones with some nice acidity. At a recent dinner party, I paired it with grilled octopus and Greek yogurt-marinated chicken kabobs and it was super. At around $15 a bottle, this Greek wine from the Peloponnesos region is a great buy and value.

This is by far the best white I have ever tasted. It is a balance between sweet and dry. Like in between Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio/Gris. Forget pairing-this is a treat unto itself. Smooth, crisp, fruity- but not cheap.

A racy white, with crisp and pure-tasting flavors of green apple, grapefruit and pear, joined by notes of jellied quince. The firm, focused finish offer honey cream accents. Drink now through 2018.

A touch pink, this moschofilero stands out for the juxtaposition of its delicate florality and stony, salty minerality. The combination is mouthwatering, firm without being weighty, bringing to mind an image of Mantiniarsquo;s cool, stony moonscape with flowering peach trees. It will make an elegant companion to light white fish.

Very spicy and crisp, with lots of lemon-lime notes to the green peach and ginger character, followed by ripe tropical fruit flavors on the finish. Drink now through 2014.

Floral and alluring with a bright lemon spin, the aromas of this Moschofilero are both feminine and crisp. On the palate, the wine has lushness, with orange blossom, melon, citrus flavors delivered in creamy wave. Overall, a pretty wine with an elegant flair.

The 2010 Moschofilero clocks in at just 11.5%. Delicate and elegant, it will be a nice and refreshing choice for summer, with enough persistence and texture to avoid being called thin, but a light and easygoing demeanor. Moschofilero is a delicate wine, easy to overlook and underappreciate. This is clean and perky, a solid little white that shows fine flavor to go with its aromatics as it warms up. It becomes juicy and delicious, stone-washed and charming. Drink it young and fresh. Drink nowandndash;2013.

    Winemaker's Notes:

Yellow-white colour with tints of green-yellow, a strong varietal aroma of flowers and citrus fruit on the nose and palate, with white rose and orange blossom prevailing. A fresh wine, full and balanced, with a long aftertaste. Pair with poultry, fish, meat and fruit dishes. Versatile, it blends well with almost any taste.
