Super floral and fruity with notes of lemon and lime, this is quite muscatty. A bit soft, though nicely broad and easy in the mouth with simple candy citrus flavors that are framed with a faint herbal tint and supported by late arriving acidity. This finishes very quickly. 82pts

Light color. May have been a bad bottle. Bit off balanced with flabby midpalate. Really did not like it. Tasted like cheap wine at a chinese restaurant.

First tasted this wine at an event hosted by Wines of Greece in Manhattan where I got to sample over 40 fine Greek wines. Lucky for me, the 2007 Boutari Moschofilero is pretty widely available in my neck of the woods in New Jersey, so I get to enjoy it often. Think of this wine as a Pinot Grigio / Sauvignon Blanc but with tons of body and flavor. It's light enough to be enjoyed all Summer long, but offers enough body and richness to pair with spicy foods during the cooler months. I find lots of juicy lemons with ripe honeyed melons and floral undertones with some nice acidity. At a recent dinner party, I paired it with grilled octopus and Greek yogurt-marinated chicken kabobs and it was super. At around $15 a bottle, this Greek wine from the Peloponnesos region is a great buy and value.

This is by far the best white I have ever tasted. It is a balance between sweet and dry. Like in between Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio/Gris. Forget pairing-this is a treat unto itself. Smooth, crisp, fruity- but not cheap.

Its like having a piece of lemon meringue pie in your mouth, citrus with hints of vanilla and cream. A porch pounder for sure.

This wine is exceptional value for money, and very versatile partnering most food, though perhaps a little fruity for thalassina.

On the ripe side, exhibiting juicy spiced apple, gooseberry and red peach flavors filled with concentrated notes of allspice and nutmeg. White pepper and onion powder accents appear on the finish. Drink now through 2017.

Like many 2012s, this is very ripe, redolent of honeysuckle, roses, orange and white pepper, but it stands apart for its balance, a combination of fullness of texture and bright, clear freshness that lends the wine balance and precision.

The 2012 Moschofilero was tank aged. Rather full, ripe and fruity on opening — although that calms down a bit, allowing the wine a bit more distinction — this is a tasty and easy going Moschofilero that is a lot of fun. Relatively speaking, Boutari’s Moschos rarely have the steely minerality and transparency that many project, but they do have an easily accessible feel to them that will make them party and porch favorites. They are hard to resist on a hot summer day. This is quite charming. Drink it young and fresh. Drink now–2015.

This fresh but fruity white starts with aromas of white rose, grapefruit and citrus, followed by light and elegant flavors of lemon, grapefruit and sea salt. Playful but memorable.
