Bouchard Pere et Fils Cotes de Beaune Villages 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

At Bouchard Père et Fils, the line is the respect of the land. The wines have great finesse. To express the characters of Cru from which they are derived, the means are significant. In 2005 the house has built a new winery with an area of 10 000 m² in Savigny les Beaune, in the middle of the vineyards. 10 meters below ground, the cellar contains about 4 500 barrels and millions of bottles. In the recent years, the house has regained its success with its perfectly defined wines. On the nose, the wine pleasently overflows with an abundance of red fruit. On the palate, it is reformed and delicate. In order to make the most out of this wine's particular freshness, it should be drunk in its youth. Food match with poultry and grilled meats or soft cheese.

As early as 1866, Dr Jules Guyot in his book on viticulture of the centre north of France, wrote that: " the essence of the fine wines of the Côte d'Or, is the grape variety, the Pineau Noir or Noirien for the red wines; the Pineau Blanc or Chardenet for the white wines ".
