Rich bubblegum fruit, sweet cinnamon and plum. Some nice cherry cola fruit on the palate but overall seemed lacking in acid balance and a bit flabby.
Fresh and juicy. Very nice! - WS Grand Tour 2011
This may be the most complex of all the wines we tasted this evening as you expect from a Grand Cru. Scents of violet, lavender, lemon, mineral, cinnamon and ginger all made appearances at various times as I kept returning to the glass to find something new. Citrus, spice and mineral played on my tongue along with an intense acidity that needs time to mellow, yet the wine itself seemed very light on the palate. It will very definitely reward those patient enough to let it reach full maturity.

As it usually does, this offers another level of aromatic complexity with a highly spiced nose trimmed in a subtle touch of wood that does not interfere with the overall transparency of either the nose or the palate as this is pure, classy and refined. Moreover, the tannins are also more refined, which is unusual, and this completely stains the palate on the hugely long finish. A balanced, stylish and beguiling Bèze that is built to age, and improve, for up to two decades. Burghound.com, Issue Apr 1, 2009, Allen Meadows
A gentle hint of wood sets off attractive aromas of red berry fruit, earth and rose petal that merge into supple and agreeable middle weight flavors that for all of the accessibility of the mid-palate also carry more than a little austerity over to t... Burghound. A Chardonnay wine from Burgundy in France. 2008 Bouchard Pere et Fils Beaune du Chateau (Domaine) 750ml
Relatively generous but not dominant wood intrudes upon the very ripe plum, cassis and floral aromas lead to extremely rich, opulent and palate drenching broad-scaled flavors that possess more dry extract than any wine to this point and possibly in t... WS 90pts. - According to the Wine Spectator: A white with a sense of place. Acacia, lemon blossom, apple and mineral aromas and flavors abound, all matched to an elegant frame. This is balanced, lingering on the long, mineral-tinged aftertaste. Drink now through 2016. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 250 cases imported.
($121) Pale bright yellow Knockout high-pitched nose seduces with scents of violet, lavender, lemon, crushed stone, mint, cinnamon and ginger; this could be bottled as perfume. Then wonderfully rich, pure and deep but youthfully tight, with compellin... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Chardonnay wine from Burgundy in France. 2008 Bouchard Pere et Fils Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 750ml
This is a classic example of Corton-Charlemagne with its impressively layered floral, green fruit, lime and stone-infused nose that precedes citrusy, precise and powerful mineral-driven flavors that posses real muscle on the almost painfully intense and steely finish that delivers striking length. While it's not quite as great as the Montrachet, it easily holds its own. A wine to own but note that only the patient will ever see it at its best as this is likely to evolve glacially.
