Bottega Vinaia Teroldego Rotaliano 2010

External Review by Palm Bay International:

Estate-bottled Bottega Vinaia is the outcome of a vision by lead winemaker Anselmo Martini at the widely recognized Cavit winery. Starting in the early 1990s, Martini sought to explore the optimum potential of a handful of extraordinary vineyards in northern Italy’s Trentino region that, year after year, consistently produce the highest quality grapes. This select group of family-farmed vineyards is the source of Bottega Vinaia, an exceptional line of artisan wines that reflects the authentic qualities of the Trentino terroir. Thanks to Anselmo Martini’s passion and tireless drive, Bottega Vinaia has swiftly joined the ranks of Italy’s top-notch premium wine producers. Production Area From vineyards planted on the gravel embankments of the Noce River, which flows through the Rotaliano plain, north of the city of Trento. Grape Varieties 100% Teroldego Vinification Hand-picked grapes are macerated on the skins for 8-10 days in stainless steel tanks. The resulting wine is matured partly in large barriques and partly in oak barrels for a maximum of six months to preserve the distinctive fruit flavor of this variety. Color Rich, intense purple with violet reflections Bouquet Assertive bouquet that recalls fresh raspberries and woodland fruits Taste Dry, full-bodied and austere in youth, becoming increasingly mellow with age; balanced tannins, long, persistent finish Alcohol 13% Serving Suggestions A very food-friendly wine. Terrific with red meats served with polenta, grilled meats, hearty stews and casseroles.

/ The concentrated, big, blackberry fruit is…deftly brought into balance thanks to more austere nuances of licorice, black tar, and worn leather. The wine leaves a big impact in the mouth thanks to good structure and length.

Hablemos de Vinos/ Color rubi oscuro con bordes violaceos, aromas que recuerda frambuesas y frutas rojas maduras, corpulento, seco y con agradable austeridad, taninos maduros, largo en el final. (The color is deep ruby with a violet rim, the aromas recall strawberries and ripe red fruit, full-bodied, dry, with a pleasing austerity, mature tannins, lasting on the finish.)
