Food Pairings for Bota Box Cabernet Sauvignon
I purchased a 500 mL Bota Box for $4 out of sheer curiosity, and the desire to answer the claim that "real" wines are coming in boxes now... After all, only junk wine comes in boxes, right? You know, that stuff they give fancy names like "Franzia" and "Almaden," yet constitute little more than fruit punch with a bit of alcohol in it? Who cares what other people are saying, these "real" boxed wines will still amount to a big box of crap, right? Well, it's sour grapes for me... [pun fully intended]. Make no mistake, this is high quality wine, and it's quite good. Is it complex, unique, and mystifying? No, of course not. But for 4 bucks (or a scant $17 for the 3 liter version), It's hard to deny that the Bota Box is a bona fide wine value. Though a bit weak for a Cabernet, this particular Bota Box wine remains a very drinkable one, perfect for weekday dinners, and life's little "gee, I could really use a glass of wine right now" moments... It's certainly not going to impress your fellow wine enthusiasts at a party, but it will impress the stalwart old codgers who think good wine only comes in bottles. Final thought: For obvious reasons, it's not the finest wine on earth, but let's just say I've had many far worse wines out of "real" bottles with "real" corks :).
We got on the box kick after doing some taste testing of different box wines. Bota is our favorite, we regular buy a box the quality is good and you can truly have a glass of wine with dinner. We like box wines because they are economical and green.

Great red at a great price!
19.99 for 4 bottle equivalent. VERY fruity but drinkable. Glass with dinner on a weeknight

Bota Box Cabernet Sauvignon offers floral notes in the glass which is quickly followed by robust aromas of black cherry and red currant with just a touch of cedar and vanilla. Medium in body, this wine is supple and juicy with rich flavors of ripe cherry,
