Although the history of the city of Borja takes us back to the beginnings of the Paleolithic period, it wasn’t until the 4th century before Christ, in the heart of the Celtiberian period, when thanks to classical and numismatic written sources the name of this village came to light: Bursao. With the passing through Bursao of different civilizations like the Romans, Visigothic Hispania and the Muslims we have inherited architectural remains and above all, the natural inclination of its people towards agriculture and more particularly viniculture. Of equal importance was the implementation of artisanal techniques that today endure as living proof of the cultural richness of the former Bursao today known as Borja. During the I and II centuries, before our time, it used to mint bronze coins, ases and dividers as a symbol of its autonomy. Tasting notes: Very intense cherry red colour with tones of purple. Presents in the nose a great concentration of aromas of ripe red fruit with floral nuances. In the mouth it is a well structured rich wine that evokes tastes of blackberry, plum and tones of leather and vanilla, with a soft and silky tannin. - Winery

The terrific 2012 Tres Picos is one of the finest inexpensive, Grenache-based wines made in the world. This full-bodied beauty boasts a deep ruby color as well as loads of strawberry and black cherry fruit, hints of lavender and crushed rocks, sweet tannin, and a broad, savory mouthfeel. It, too, should be consumed over the next 3–4 years.

Campo de Borja, SpainBorsao Tres Picos Garnacha is a perennial Best Buy hailed by many of the world's wine critics as an awesome value. We consider this wine one of the top gems of Spanish wine. The grapes come from vineyards that are between 35 and 40 years old. Located on uneven terrain at an altitude of 600 to 700 meters, these vineyards yield under four and a half tons of grapes per hectare, affording superb richness and concentration in the wine. This 2012 vintage of Borsao Tres Picos received scores of 92 from both Robert Parker and Steve Tanzer! Dr. Jay Miller for Wine Advocate wrote, "If I had to select just one Spanish wine that consistently over-delivers year after year, it would be Tres Picos." Need we say more? While supplies last!Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha is cherry red in color, deep and sweet, with medium body. On the nose, there is a boundless bouquet of cherries and ripe red fruits with traces of flowers typical of Garnacha. On the palate, it is rich and well-structured with flavors of blackberries, strawberries, vanilla, plums, and leather notes. Beautifully balanced with sweet tannins, Borsao Tres Picos leaves a long, silky finish.Enjoy Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha over the next 3-4 years with roast pork, grilled vegetables, burgers and cheeses.
