Borsao Tres Picos Campo de Borja 2006
Not a great start on the nose - reminiscent of a cheap jug wine. Very juicy. Starts with a simple cherry Kool Aid taste, but evolves into an earthy finish with a little leather. Light tannins and acid, medium body. At its peak. New world style.
A medium purple red color with an aromatic nose of ripe strawberries, blueberries, and a touch of vanilla and lavender. The palate is flavorful with tons of juicy red and blue fruit, and on the finish just a tiny lingering of fresh coffee grinds. Dry, medium to medium heavy bodied, with tart acidity, medium astringent tannins, and a long finish. This wine has a candy like fruitiness which I did not particularly like. Very different from past vintages I have had, it lacks the earthiness and minerality I have enjoyed in other years. 2/5
Deep in color, spicy depth to the nose leading to the wonders of the mysteriousness of taste. The spiciness comes through on the palate, pleasantly peppery. A slightly dry finish. Although we rated this the same as some other wines that we've tasted, the complexity of this wine was truly noted. If you are in the mood for a spicier wine this would be a decent inexpensive choice.
100% old vine Garnacha leather and spice scents dry, smooth
Beautiful and well made in every respect. This comes in a beautiful heavy, deep=punted bottles with a thick foil and well made cork. The wine is rich and smooth on the nose and tongue, with vanilla, cherry and caramelized onion notes. Lots of complexity here to explore again and again.
My favorite everyday under$15 wine.
Smooth after allowed 30 minutes to breathe...dry mouth finish.

One of the most coveted value wines year after year. The 2005 was on Spectator\'s top 100 wines of 2006.
Saturated ruby-red. Blackberry and blueberry aromas are complicated by incense and dried flowers. Juicy dark berry flavors are liqueur-like in richness, with nervy minerality adding energy. Becomes fleshier and sweeter on the finish, which echoes the floral note. Pretty sexy stuff.
