from epicurious:"Barbera is Italy's most food-friendly red wine type: It's a classic, light-on-its-feet red, able to dance around complicated food-matching problems. Boroli is a small, high-quality producer that houses a hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant called Locanda del Pilone. So the owners clearly know their wine and food. This bottle hails from the grape's true home, the Piedmont region in the northern section of the country. The cherry and raspberry flavors are crisp, not flabby, and there's a lovely lingering finish."

This Barbera D Alba wine produced with Barbera grapes has a colour that is very intense, ruby red. On the nose it offers aromas of ripe forest fruits and undertones of vanilla while on the palate this wine is close-texture, mouth-filling with aromas of ripe raspberries and blackberries. There is a nice balance of acidity alcohol and tannins followed by a long-appealing finish. It is ideal for a long period of ageing; matured in cask for 6 months and refined in bottle for 6 months. Serving temperature is 18 C and it can be served through the entire meal

Helles jugendliches Rubinrot.
