Boomsma Jonge Genever Gin

Member Review by wadejg:

Boomsma is quite simply the best gin for a gin and tonic that I have ever had. Two of my G+T drinking friends agree. It is beautifully smooth and fragrant. I tried more than a dozen different gin brands, mostly London Dry styles. I always ended up with my previous go to, classic Tanqueray. Until now. I would never drink Tanqueray on the rocks. But Boomsma on the rocks with a bit of lime is GREAT. Try it. Enjoy.

Genever is the original style of gin invented in The Netherlands. It is a softer and sweeter spirit than the more popular London Dry style and ideal for drinking straight. Jonge refers to the more modern, lighter type of genever.

Jonge simply means young in Dutch and distinguishes this old-style genever from the 'Oude' or aged gin made by Boomsma. A strong zesty 'Dutch' style gin is a little lighter on the juniper and heavier on the citrus peel and aromatics.
